Early Life and Development
Raised in a family of doctors, Aryan’s cricketing journey began in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, where he was selected for his school team in Class III. Recognizing his potential, his father enrolled him in the Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Dehradun. Under the guidance of coach Ravindra Negi, Aryan honed his skills, eventually representing Uttar Pradesh at the Under-14 and Under-16 levels.
Domestic Career
Aryan made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2017–18 Vijay Hazare Trophy. He was also part of India’s Under-19 squad for the 2018 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, where India emerged as champions. In December 2019, he debuted in First-Class cricket for Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy.
In the 2023–24 season, Aryan returned from an ankle injury to become Uttar Pradesh’s leading run-scorer, amassing 577 runs at an average of 64.11, including a double century. He continued his impressive form in the 2024–25 season, scoring 714 runs at an average of 79.33, with four centuries and a fifty.
IPL Career
In February 2022, Aryan was bought by the Mumbai Indians in the IPL auction. During the 2025 IPL mega auction in Jeddah, he was acquired by the Lucknow Super Giants for INR 30 lakh.
Leadership Role
With Rinku Singh’s absence, Aryan was appointed as Uttar Pradesh’s captain for the 2024–25 season, leading the team with distinction and continuing his role as a key contributor with the bat.
