In 2023, while playing for Railways, he scored a 12-ball 53 against Arunachal Pradesh in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, breaking Yuvraj Singh’s record for the fastest T20 fifty by an Indian.

Ashutosh was signed by Punjab Kings for the 2024 IPL season, where he scored 189 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 167.25. In 2025, he was acquired by Delhi Capitals for ₹3.8 crore.
