Aamir Ali Biography

Aamir Ali Malik, known professionally as Aamir Ali, was born on 1 September 1981 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. An actor and model, he studied at the University of Mumbai and came to notice through advertising: his first commercial break was a Bajaj scooters campaign, followed by advertisements for brands including Aptech, Maruti Zen, Nescafe, Chevrolet, BSNL and the State Bank of India.

He moved into television with Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, playing Sameer Kaul, and then took lead roles in Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki as Saumya Parashar and in Kya Dill Mein Hai. In December 2007 he and Sanjeeda Sheikh won the dance reality show Nach Baliye 3. He led Bhaskar Bharti in 2009 as Armaan Sinha, and became best known as Chief Inspector Bajrang Pandey in the long-running comedy series F.I.R., which he appeared in from 2011 to 2015.

In films he debuted with Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai? (2002) as Rahul and went on to appear in Khamosh Pani (2004), I Hate Luv Storys (2010) and Hansal Mehta’s Faraaz (2022) as Mr. Sen. Since 2020 he has worked mainly in streaming series, including Black Widows, Naxalbari, The Trial (2023), Lootere and Doctors (2024), and Amar Vishwas (2026) as Akbar Baig. He was married to actress Sanjeeda Sheikh from 2012 until their divorce in 2021; in August 2020 it was reported that the couple have a daughter, Ayra, born through surrogacy.
