Abishan Jeevinth Biography

Abishan Jeevinth is an Indian film director, screenwriter and actor who works in Tamil cinema. He wrote and directed Tourist Family (2025), which became one of the highest-grossing and most profitable Indian films of that year, and made his debut as a lead actor in With Love (2026).

He was born in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, where he developed an early interest in cinema, and pursued a Bachelor of Science in Visual Communication at Loyola College, Chennai. He created sketch-comedy videos on his YouTube channel Thug Light and directed the short films Djinn (2019) and Nodigal Pirakatum (2020). A debut feature signed during his final year of college in 2020 was shelved because of the COVID-19 pandemic. During the pandemic he began writing a script inspired by Kamal Haasan’s Thenali (2000) while also working briefly as a teacher; that script eventually evolved into Tourist Family.

Produced by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment, Tourist Family starred M. Sasikumar, Simran, Mithun Jai Sankar and Kamalesh Jagan, with Abishan himself appearing in a supporting role. The film grossed around Rs 90 crore worldwide and was reported as the most profitable Indian film of 2025; in January 2026 it was named one of four Indian films eligible for the Academy Award for Best Picture. His next project, With Love (2026), was directed by Madhan, an associate director on Tourist Family, and produced by MRP Entertainment with Soundarya Rajinikanth’s Zion Films. Abishan played Sathya Seelan opposite Anaswara Rajan, and the film premiered on 3 February 2026 at Sathyam Cinemas. He married his longtime partner Akhila Ilangovan on 31 October 2025.
