Ashika Ranganath Biography
Ashika Ranganath, born 5 August 1996 in Tumkur district, Karnataka, is an Indian actress who works chiefly in Kannada cinema and has also appeared in Telugu and Tamil films. She was born to Ranganath and Sudha Ranganath; her elder sister, Anusha Ranganath, also acts in Kannada films. She studied at Bishop Sargant School in Tumkur, moved to Bengaluru for pre-university at Jyoti Nivas College, and completed a commerce degree at MES College of Arts, Commerce and Science. While at Jyoti Nivas she finished runner-up in the 2014 Clean and Clear Fresh Face Bangalore contest, where director Mahesh Babu spotted her.
He cast her in Crazy Boy (2016), her acting debut, which brought a SIIMA nomination for Best Female Debut – Kannada. Commercially successful roles in Mass Leader and Mugulu Nage (both 2017) followed, and Raambo 2 (2018), opposite Sharan, became her breakthrough. She won the SIIMA Award for Best Actress – Kannada for Madhagaja (2021) and again for O2 (2024).
She made her Tamil debut in Pattathu Arasan (2022) and her Telugu debut opposite Nandamuri Kalyan Ram in Amigos (2023). In Gatha Vaibhava, released on 14 November 2025, she played four roles. Her Telugu comedy drama Bhartha Mahasayulaku Wignyapthi, with Ravi Teja, was released on 13 January 2026 to mixed reviews and did not succeed at the box office. She is also cast in the Tamil sequel Sardar 2, scheduled for 10 September 2026, and in the unreleased Telugu film Vishwambhara with Chiranjeevi.
