Lalit Prabhakar Biography
Lalit Prabhakar Bhadane, known professionally as Lalit Prabhakar, is an Indian actor who works primarily in Marathi film and television, alongside Hindi film and streaming projects. He was born on 12 September 1987 in Kalyan, Maharashtra, into a family originally from Samode in Dhule district; his father was a professor at an Industrial Training Institute and his mother a schoolteacher. Because of his father’s transfers he grew up in several towns across Maharashtra, and he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Birla College in Kalyan.
He came to acting through the Kalyan experimental theatre group Mitee-Chaar, working under director Ravindra Lakhe, and held the Ministry of Culture’s Young Artiste Scholarship from 2010 to 2012. He made his television debut around 2008 in Zee Marathi’s Kunku, and broke through as Aditya Desai in the daily soap Julun Yeti Reshimgathi (2013–2015), a role that won him a Zee Marathi Best Actor award. He followed it with Dil Dosti Duniyadari (2015) and continued to direct and act in Marathi theatre.
Prabhakar made his film debut as a lead in Paresh Mokashi’s Chi Va Chi Sau Ka (2017), winning the Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Debut Actor. His portrayal of Gopalrao Joshi in Anandi Gopal (2019) won him the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor (Marathi) and the Best Actor prize at the Pune International Film Festival. He has since worked across Zombivli and Sunny (both 2022), Tarri (2023), the Hindi film Ground Zero (2025) opposite Emraan Hashmi, Aarpar and Premachi Goshta 2 (both 2025), and the 2026 releases One Two Cha Cha Chaa, Super Duperr and Toh Ti Ani Fuji. He has remained unmarried and keeps his personal life out of the press.
