Mona Singh Biography

Mona Singh (born 8 October 1981) is an Indian actress who works in Hindi films and series. She is best recognised for her role in the soap opera Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin (2003–2006) and is a recipient of two Indian Television Academy Awards and one Filmfare OTT Award.

Singh was born into a Sikh family in Chandigarh. She first appeared on Hindi television in Sony Entertainment Television’s Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, which made her a household name and won her Apsara (Producers Guild), Indian Telly and Indian Television Academy awards. She participated in and won the first season of the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2006, hosted Femina Miss India and the second season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2007, and won Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena in 2008. She later returned to fiction with shows including Kya Huaa Tera Vaada, Pyaar Ko Ho Jaane Do and Kavach… Kaali Shaktiyon Se.

She made her film debut in a supporting role in Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots (2009), one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time, and went on to appear in Zed Plus (2014), Laal Singh Chaddha (2022) and Munjya (2024). She expanded into web series with Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain (2018) and Yeh Meri Family (2018), and won the Filmfare OTT Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for the second season of Made in Heaven (2023). Her recent work includes Kaala Paani (2023), Mistry (2025) and The Ba***ds of Bollywood (2025). She married Shyam Rajagopalan in December 2019.
