Pradeep Ranganathan Biography

Pradeep Ranganathan (born 25 July 1993 in Madras, now Chennai) is an Indian film director, actor, screenwriter, lyricist, producer and playback singer who works in Tamil cinema. He studied at SSN College of Engineering in Chennai and began his career making short films, among them Whatsapp Kadhal (2014), on which he multitasked as actor, editor and director.

His feature directorial debut came from Ravi Mohan (Jayam Ravi) and Vels International, who approached him after seeing his short films. The resulting film, Comali (2019), also starred Kajal Aggarwal and was a commercial success, though it drew protests from Rajinikanth’s fans over a trailer scene that was later removed. Pradeep appeared in a cameo as Joseph and also wrote additional dialogues for LKG the same year. His second directorial venture, Love Today (2022), was expanded from his short film App(a) Lock; released on a modest budget, it became a blockbuster grossing over ₹100 crore and marked his full-fledged debut as a lead actor.

He then concentrated on acting, headlining Dragon (released 21 February 2025), on which he also shares a story credit, and Dude (released 17 October 2025), for which he made his playback singing debut with the song “Singari”. He produced Loveyapa (2025), the Hindi remake of Love Today. His next release, Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany (10 April 2026), in which he played Vaibhav “Vibe Vassey” Vasudevan, underperformed at the box office and ended his run of hits. In July 2026 he launched his own production house, PR Show.
