Priyanshu Chatterjee Biography

Priyanshu Chatterjee (born 20 February 1973 in New Delhi) is an Indian actor and former model known for his work in Hindi and Bengali cinema. He began his career in modelling, appearing in campaigns for Digjam, Wills, Levi’s and Four Square, before moving into films. He was married to model Malini Sharma; the couple divorced in 2001.

Chatterjee made his acting debut in the romantic drama Tum Bin (2001), in which reviewers singled out his sincerity in the film’s meatier male role. Its director, Anubhav Sinha, cast him again in Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahin Dekha Hai (2003). The same year he appeared opposite Aishwarya Rai in Dil Ka Rishta and in Chandraprakash Dwivedi’s Partition drama Pinjar. He followed these with Woh and Madhoshi in 2004, a small role as Amitabh Bachchan’s on-screen son in Bhoothnath (2008), a cameo in Hate Story 3 (2015), Baadshaho (2017) and Shikara (2020).

He has remained active across films and streaming. His later credits include Achena Uttam (2022), in which he played Satyajit Ray, 12th Fail (2023) as DSP Dushyant Singh, Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video (2023), the Bengali films Mayamrigaya and Rabindra Kabya Rahasya (2025), in both of which he portrayed Rabindranath Tagore, Kuberaa (2025) and The Bengal Files (2025) as Justice Banerjee. His most recent release is the Hindi film Azad Bharath (2026). On streaming he has appeared in Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala (2019), Fireflies: Parth Aur Jugnu (2023), Dil Dosti Dilemma (2024) and Mrs. Deshpande (2025).
