Ravi Behl Biography

Ravi Behl, born on 10 May 1966, is an Indian actor and television producer who belongs to the Behl family of Hindi films. He is the son of the film producer Shyam Behl, whose productions included Duniya (1968) and The Gold Medal (1969); his sister Geeta Behl acted in films such as Do Premee and Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai. The director-producer Goldie Behl is his first cousin, not his sibling. Behl has never married.

He first appeared on screen as a boy in Morchha (1980) and made his adult debut opposite Raj Babbar in Inteha (1984). His best-known film work came in the 1990s: Narsimha (1991) with Sunny Deol and Urmila Matondkar, Dalaal (1993) with Mithun Chakraborty, Agni Sakshi (1996) with Jackie Shroff and Nana Patekar, and Ghulam-E-Mustafa (1997). He also appeared in the British television mini-series The Far Pavilions.

As film offers slowed, Behl moved to television, co-producing and co-hosting the long-running dance show Boogie Woogie (1996–2014) with Naved Jaffrey, which made him a household name. He returned to acting in the streaming era as Jaiveer “Jayu” Singh in The Night Manager (2023) and as the veteran lawyer Digambar “DD” Dixit in the courtroom drama Amar Vishwas, a ten-episode series released on Amazon MX Player in 2026.
