Saurabh Sachdeva Biography

Saurabh Sachdeva is an Indian actor and acting coach who works predominantly in Hindi films. He was born on 24 September 1978 into a Punjabi family in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, and studied at Model Sr Secondary School in Saket, Delhi. In 2001 he joined Barry John’s Imago Acting School, started teaching there in 2002, and worked with the Imago Theatre Group until 2003. He moved to Mumbai in 2005 to join the Barry John Acting School, where he spent eleven years as a coach, and in 2017 founded his own institute, The Actors Truth, along with the theatre group Antarang.

He has trained a large number of screen actors, among them Rana Daggubati, Anushka Sharma, Bobby Deol, John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, Freida Pinto, Richa Chadha, Tripti Dimri, Dulquer Salmaan, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Avinash Tiwary and Kubbra Sait. In 2016 he also directed the short film Gul, which was shown at the Kerala International Film Festival.

As an actor he drew critical attention as the crime boss Suleiman Isa in the Netflix series Sacred Games (2018). His screen work since includes Manmarziyaan (2018), Laal Kaptaan and Housefull 4 (2019), Vadh (2022), Haddi, Jaane Jaan and Animal (2023), Pushpa 2: The Rule (2024) and a run of 2025 releases in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam cinema. He won Best Supporting Actor for Animal at the Iconic Gold Awards 2024, and was nominated in the web-series category at the International Iconic Awards the same year for Bambai Meri Jaan. He is next due to appear in Satluj and Ramayana.
