Shane Nigam Biography
Shane Nigam is an Indian actor who appears in Malayalam films. He was born in 1995 in Elamakkara, Kochi, Kerala, the eldest of three children of the mimicry artist and comedian Kalabhavan Abi and his wife Sunila; he has two younger sisters, Ahana and Aleena. He was schooled at Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Elamakkara, and studied engineering at Rajagiri School of Engineering & Technology, Kochi, before turning to acting.
Nigam made his acting debut in the 2010 film Thanthonni, and appeared in Neelakasham Pachakadal Chuvanna Bhoomi and Annayum Rasoolum (2013), the latter as Anna’s brother. He made his debut as a lead actor in Kismath (2016) opposite Shruthy Menon. He played a central character alongside Amala Akkineni and Manju Warrier in C/O Saira Banu (2017), the same year he featured in Soubin Shahir’s coming-of-age drama Parava, and drew critical praise the following year for the romance Eeda (2018).
In 2019 he starred in two films: the comedy-drama Kumbalangi Nights, a major box-office and critical success, and the romantic thriller Ishq. He went on to appear in C U Soon (2020), Veyil and the psychological horror Bhoothakaalam (both 2022), and RDX: Robert Dony Xavier (2023). His 2025 releases include Haal and the action drama Balti, his twenty-fifth film in a leading role. His career has also drawn attention for production disputes — a 2019 conflict with the producer of Veyil that was mediated by the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists, and a reported disagreement with the producers of RDX.
