Sharad Kelkar Biography

Sharad Kelkar (born 7 October 1976) is an Indian actor and voice artist who works across Hindi and Marathi films, television, streaming series and dubbing. He was born into a Marathi family and brought up in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where his father was an engineer with the state Public Works Department. He took an MBA at the Prestige Institute of Management, Gwalior, and also studied at the Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education in the same city. He married his co-star Keerti Gaekwad Kelkar, a television actress, on 3 June 2005; the couple have a daughter, Kesha, and appeared together on the dance reality show Nach Baliye 2.

He began on television with Aap Beeti (2001) and made his fuller television debut in 2004 with the Doordarshan series Aakrosh, playing Inspector Sachin Kulkarni. He became widely known as Nahar Singh in Saat Phere – Saloni Ka Safar (2005–2009) and later led Agent Raghav – Crime Branch (2015–2016). In film he appeared in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), the Marathi hit Lai Bhaari (2014), the Telugu film Sardaar Gabbar Singh (2016) and Irada (2017), before a run of higher-profile roles: Chhatrapati Shivaji in Tanhaji (2020), Laxmii (2020), Bhuj: The Pride of India (2021), Har Har Mahadev (2022), Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga and Chatrapathi (both 2023), Srikanth (2024) and Sky Force (2025).

As a dubbing artist he provided the Hindi voice of Prabhas as both Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali in Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and he has dubbed Hindi versions of roles including Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw and Dwayne Johnson’s Maui. On streaming he has featured in The Family Man (from 2019), Rangbaaz Phir Se (2019), Special OPS (2020), Black Widows (2021), The Legend of Hanuman (2021–2024) as narrator and the voice of Ravana, Indian Police Force (2024) and Baahubali: Crown of Blood (2024). He returned to Hindi television in July 2025 as Aryavardhan in Zee TV’s Tumm Se Tumm Tak, and in 2026 he played Bada Chaudhary in the Netflix crime series Taskaree – The Smuggler’s Web.
