Myneni Sharwanand (born 6 March 1984), known mononymously as Sharwanand, is an Indian actor and producer who works primarily in Telugu cinema alongside a few Tamil films. He was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, to Myneni Ratnagiri Vara Prasad Rao and Myneni Vasundhara Devi, and was brought up in Hyderabad; his family originally hails from Edlalanka near Avanigadda. He is a grandson of Myneni Hariprasada Rao. He attended The Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet, where Ram Charan and Rana Daggubati were classmates, and completed a B.Com at Wesley Degree College, Secunderabad.
Sharwanand first drew attention in a Thums Up advertisement alongside Chiranjeevi before making his acting debut in the Telugu film Aidho Tareekhu (2004). Early supporting roles in Shankar Dada M.B.B.S. (2004), Sankranthi (2005) and Lakshmi (2006) were followed by leading turns in Vennela (2005) and Amma Cheppindi (2006). Gamyam (2008), Andari Bandhuvaya (2010) and Prasthanam (2010) earned him critical acclaim and Nandi Awards recognition. He entered Tamil cinema with Naalai Namadhe (2009) and gained wider recognition with Engeyum Eppodhum (2011), which won him the SIIMA Award for Best Male Debut – Tamil. He turned producer in 2012 with Ko Antey Koti, made under his Sarvaa Arts banner.
His commercial breakthrough came with Run Raja Run (2014), one of the year’s biggest Telugu hits, which brought him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actor – Telugu. Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju (2015) won him the Nandi Special Jury Award, and he followed it with Express Raja (2016), Sathamanam Bhavati (2017), his 25th film Radha (2017), Mahanubhavudu (2017), Ranarangam (2019), Jaanu (2020), Oke Oka Jeevitham (2022) and Manamey (2024). He became engaged to Rakshitha Reddy on 26 January 2023 and married her on 3 June 2023 in Jaipur; the couple have a daughter, Leela Devi Myneni. Nari Nari Naduma Murari released at Sankranthi 2026 to generally positive reviews, followed by Biker, while Bhogi, directed by Sampath Nandi, is in production.
