Sundeep Kishan Biography

Sundeep Kishan is an Indian actor and producer who works mainly in Telugu and Tamil cinema. He was born on 7 May 1987 into a Telugu family in Madras (now Chennai), and is a nephew of the cinematographers Chota K. Naidu and Shyam K. Naidu. He moved to Hyderabad in 2008 to pursue a career in films, spending a year as an assistant director to Gautham Vasudev Menon before facing the camera himself.

He starred in Sneha Geetham (2010) and made his acting debut the same year in Deva Katta’s Prasthanam. Katta’s recommendation to Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. led to his Hindi debut in Shor in the City (2011). His breakthrough came in 2013 with Gundello Godari, which earned him a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor – Telugu, and the commercially successful Venkatadri Express.

After a lean spell his career turned around in 2017 with the Tamil films Maanagaram and Maayavan. He became a producer with Ninu Veedani Needanu Nene (2019) and A1 Express (2021), and moved into streaming with Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man. Three releases followed in 2024 — Captain Miller, Ooru Peru Bhairavakona and Raayan, the last being his highest-grossing film. Away from acting he runs the Vivaha Bhojanambhu restaurant chain in Hyderabad.
