Nayyi Navelli Trailer: Yami Gautam’s Bahu Has a Secret

By AYC Editorial Desk 3 min read

The Nayyi Navelli trailer dropped on September 30, 2026, on the Amazon MGM Studios India YouTube channel. It runs 3 minutes 2 seconds. Yami Gautam Dhar plays Mohini, a bride so perfect you just know something’s off.

Spoiler: something is very off. And honestly? That’s the fun part.

Some outlets spell it “Nayi Naveli,” so if you searched that, you’re in the right place.

What the Nayyi Navelli trailer shows

According to Pinkvilla’s trailer review, Mohini walks into the chaotic Awasthi household in Meerut and wins everyone over. Her cooking does half the work. Her charm handles the rest.

Then the brother-in-law gets suspicious. He’s convinced the new bahu is a daayan, and he wants to check her footprint, per The Hollywood Reporter India. Classic desi witch-test logic. We love it.

From there, the Nayyi Navelli trailer slowly peels back who Mohini really is. Pinkvilla describes a mix of family drama, humour, mystery and action. The climax hints at a face-off with an ultimate evil.

That gradual reveal of her powers is the best trick here. Pinkvilla picked it as the standout, and we agree.

Yami says Mohini “moves seamlessly between family, humour, emotion, fantasy and action, while still staying rooted at heart.” Big claim. The trailer at least backs up the genre-hopping part.

One thing to clear up: a few search summaries say Mohini takes on Ravana. We couldn’t find a single report that confirms it. The only verified Dussehra link is the release date. So for now, call it “an evil force,” not Ravana.

Nayyi Navelli cast and crew

  • Yami Gautam Dhar as Mohini, the new bride
  • Supporting cast: Addinath M. Kothare, Anurag Thakur, Sunita Rajwar, Mita Vashisht and Sushmita Mukherjee
  • Director: Balaji Mohan, the Maari director, making his Hindi debut
  • Producers: Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma of Colour Yellow, with Amazon MGM Studios India (Bollywood Hungama)
  • Writers: Himanshu Sharma and Divy Nidhi Sharma
  • Music: GV Prakash Kumar

Interesting team, right? A Maari director, the Colour Yellow camp and GV Prakash on music. Nikhil Madhok of Prime Video India called this their first collaboration with Rai and Sharma. He also said “they have created a remarkable movie.” Well, he would say that.

Nayyi Navelli story and release date

Strip it down and the premise is simple. Picture-perfect bride, suspicious in-laws, hidden powers, big showdown.

Most reports bill it as a Hindi fantasy family entertainer. Some outlets call it a horror comedy, but the Nayyi Navelli trailer plays more like fantasy with a few spooky bits. Don’t walk in expecting proper scares.

The film hits cinemas across India on October 16, 2026, just ahead of Dussehra. It won’t have the screens to itself, either. The Hollywood Reporter India says it lands alongside Drishyam: The Conclusion and Jailer 2.

That’s a brutal festive weekend for a fresh, non-franchise film. Can Mohini’s charm pull family audiences away from two big sequels? Watch the opening numbers, then see where she lands on our highest-grossing Bollywood movies of 2026 so far list.

Our trailer verdict? Paisa vasool potential, as long as the film keeps Mohini’s secret this playful on the big screen.
