The wait is finally almost over for the epic conclusion to the beloved sci-fi series, Stranger Things. Netflix has just released the finale trailer for Season 5, and it’s every bit as intense and emotional as fans have been hoping for.
The Final Battle Begins
The trailer opens with a dark and foreboding look at Hawkins, now heavily overrun by the Upside Down. Jim Hopper (David Harbour) tells Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) that he needs her to “fight, one last time.” This sets the stage for the ultimate showdown between our heroes and the dark forces that have plagued their town since the beginning.
A Look Back at the Journey
The trailer blends past highlights to show the high price the Hawkins kids paid. It features young Will from Season 1 to bring the story full circle. The narrator notes that though “terrible people” attacked and manipulated Eleven, they never broke her spirit. By showing the group in constant danger, the trailer emphasizes the massive stakes of their final stand.
New Challenges and Old Foes
We get glimpses of Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine) and the experiments Eleven endured at the lab. Henry Creel (Jamie Campbell Bower), the man who would become Vecna, is also seen in his younger form, surrounded by the devastation he caused. The threat of Vecna is more palpable than ever, with his terrifying hand reaching out towards Eleven.
The Ultimate Sacrifice?
One of the most heart-pounding moments in the trailer is the appearance of a massive, multi-headed creature in the red sky, causing Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) to exclaim, “Mother of God.” This creature seems like a formidable new challenge that our heroes will have to face.
Mark Your Calendars
The trailer concludes with the words we’ve all been waiting for: “ONE EPISODE LEFT” and “THE FINAL EPISODE.” The release date is revealed to be New Year’s Eve, making it the perfect way to ring in 2026.
