Street Fighter Trailer: Ryu, Ken and Dhalsim Enter the Ring

By AYC Editorial Desk 3 min read

Grew up button-mashing on an arcade cabinet? Then the Street Fighter trailer from Paramount Pictures is your kind of nostalgia trip. It runs nearly three minutes, packed with fights, face-offs and one very old grudge. And there’s a desi hook too: Vidyut Jammwal plays Dhalsim.

Paramount dropped this official Street Fighter trailer in early September 2026. It launched on the Shinjuku Yunika Vision screens in Tokyo, kicking off the film’s global World Warrior Tour. Fun bonus: YouTube let viewers play a “Street Fighter Combo Challenge” while the video ran.

Need the full backstory first? Our Street Fighter movie guide has it. The film is already in cinemas, by the way.

What the Street Fighter trailer shows

Ryu and Ken carry this thing. Variety India describes elaborate fight sequences, training and tournament-style face-offs. All of it circles back to the bad blood between the two.

Then Dhalsim shows up. The trailer gives us his stretching, yoga-based fighting style. Jammwal’s action scenes drew a lot of love online, as The Hollywood Reporter India pointed out.

An earlier cut went even harder on fan service. Man of Many reported Ryu charging up a Hadouken and Ken smashing a car, a clear nod to the Street Fighter II bonus stage. M. Bison lurked in the background too.

Our take? This movie knows exactly who its audience is. Subtle it isn’t. Paisa vasool fan service, though.

Street Fighter cast and crew

Kitao Sakurai directs. Legendary Pictures produced the film with Capcom, and Paramount handles distribution. Here’s the main lineup:

  • Andrew Koji as Ryu
  • Noah Centineo as Ken Masters
  • Callina Liang as Chun-Li
  • Jason Momoa as Blanka
  • David Dastmalchian as M. Bison
  • Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim
  • Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i as Akuma
  • Cody Rhodes as Guile
  • Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson as Balrog
  • Olivier Richters as Zangief

The wider roster adds Orville Peck as Vega, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda and Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki. Our Street Fighter cast and characters explainer covers everyone.

For Indian fans, Dhalsim is the big one. The yogi from India first appeared in Street Fighter II back in 1991. Nobody has played him in live action since Roshan Seth in the 1994 film.

This is also Jammwal’s Hollywood debut. He trained in Kalaripayattu and does his own stunts. So those elastic-limb fights might actually feel real.

Street Fighter story and release date

The story takes place in 1993. Chun-Li recruits Ryu and Ken, two estranged fighters, for the next World Warrior Tournament. A conspiracy runs underneath the event. It forces the old friends to fight each other and face their past. Want the spoiler-heavy version? Our Street Fighter plot explainer breaks it down.

The film opened in India on October 16, 2026, in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, as Zee News reported. Pick your dub. Still sorting out showtimes? Here’s where to watch Street Fighter in India.

Watched the Street Fighter trailer and still on the fence? Honestly, Dhalsim alone might be worth the ticket.
